— THE RED CITY
Welcome to Morocco. Your guide meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel in Guéliz. Depending on your arrival time, explore the medina — the tangle of souks, the aroma of spices, the call to prayer echoing over the rooftops.
— CROSSING THE ATLAS
A spectacular drive through the High Atlas. Pass through the Asni valley with its red-earth villages, then climb to Tizi n'Test (2,130m), the historic pass once used by caravans. Descend into a different world — pre-Saharan, arid, mysterious. Short hike to your first camp.
— TRADITIONAL VILLAGES
The arid landscape gives way to the green valley of Aït Oubyal, planted with barley, wheat, and saffron. Walk through villages where mud-brick houses with brightly painted doors cluster on slopes. Discover ancient collective granaries, still guarding precious harvests.
— NOMAD COUNTRY
A delightful morning walk along a crystal-clear stream. Climb gently through this ribbon of green before ascending to the Guiliz ridge with panoramic views. Descend to camp near the Tagrara caves — ancient shelters still inhabited by shepherds of the Beni M'Zguid tribe.
— VOLCANIC THRONE
A varied and spectacular day. Picturesque gorges, mineral landscapes, green valleys. In 2-3 hours, reach the ridge — the trail winds through volcanic pinnacles before the final ascent to 3,304m. The views stretch forever: Anti-Atlas, High Atlas, the distant Sahara.
— PRECIOUS HARVEST
Continue descending through a superb valley watered by a small stream. Villagers have built irrigation channels feeding beautiful crops. In autumn, purple saffron flowers carpet the terraces — Morocco's precious "red gold." Camp surrounded by the world's most valuable spice.
— CROSSING BACK
Final morning walk through magnificent landscapes dotted with small villages. Return to Marrakech via Tizi n'Tichka (2,260m), the highest road pass in Morocco. Optional stop at UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou. Arrive in the city as evening falls.
— FAREWELL
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. You carry with you the scent of saffron, the silence of volcanic peaks, the memory of caves where shepherds live as they have for centuries.
